Perched 5,506 feet in the sky sits the quirky, yet quaint town of Beech Mountain, N.C., the highest town in eastern America. With ruby red slippers in tow, join fans of the classic Wizard of Oz film from all over the world at the Land of Oz for the annual Autumn at Oz festival. For one weekend only every September, visitors can follow along with Dorothy, Scarecrow, TinMan and the Cowardly Lion as they travel down the yellow brick road to the Land of Oz. The Wire & Wood Alpharetta Songwriters Festival returns for its seventh year in downtown Alpharetta. Bring your friends and family for the weekend to experience this FREE two-day songwriter music festival. Nationally recognized singer-songwriters will gather together to perform their original songs giving music lovers a behind-the-scenes look at the stories that inspired country, rock, blues, Americana and bluegrass songs.
